rub a dub dub, three girls in a tub (well, you wish.)
yesterday evening I was out with the girls to celebrate Nora's 19th birthday. God she's so old, as old as I am, which only lasts for about 3 months because hinthint my turn is coming (my turn is always coming, that's the great thing about birthdays). anyway her parents invited Aloha and I for dinner so we obliged and had a great time because Nora's mother is wickedly cool. her aunt was sweet and her dad I didn't really talk to because I'm kinda afraid of him.
Alawiyah: aunty after this why don't you join us at Starbucks we can chill out
me: you did NOT just say chill out don't ever use that again!
we had more moments of stupidity like that which is why I love the two girls so much. one time I had to discreetly ask Nora what lemon was in Malay so I could talk to her aunt about oysters, and then my best friend decided to shout out SHE CAN SPEAK ENGLISH YOU KNOW! just when I was saying 'Cik, takde limau eh?'
dinner was buffet-style and I had quite a bit to eat because it's
only natural. I discovered I like fish eggs! who would've known. guess you do learn something new everyday.
then the three of us headed down to Coffee Bean and talked. it's been 7 long years and so much has happened. I used to be this big geek with thick glasses and short, weirdly-styled hair, always thinking Nora was way more mature than I'll ever be cos she had a Steady Boyfriend. and Alawiyah was the beautiful silly goon to me, with long straight hair guys went
crazy over. we had big dreams for ourselves, some in-the-making, some exchanged for even bigger ones. it's been a good friendship and hey, here's to more because we all know there will definitely, defintely be more.
Happy 19th sweetheart, we'll always love you =]
