some good things came this way.
we had some friends come over yesterday for Nad's surprise party. it worked out exactly the way we wanted because Fahimah is such a bloody good liar. so huddled in our small room were Nab and I, along with John the Rachel, Christian (this exchange student from Switzerland), Jinli (who had to leave early to get her teeth extracted. just one of the weird things that only happen to her), Joyce from Hall 11, Fahimah the Bedek Queen, Sal who came with Surya (the first NUS student I've met in a while because I've been cooped up in school for so long), and Birthday Girl herself.
oh we bought Nad a cake and a hot pink feather boa. muahahaha.
sometimes I wonder how people view us as a group. I mean, I don't see us as anything exclusive but I'm aware people do regard us as a collective item. we tend to come in bunches ranging from 4 to 9. I love my friends, but I especially love the way we are individually independent and can function just as well on our own. maybe I do make good choices after all.
last night after the party I went back to school for my Nanyang Chron meeting. I'm still not sure if I wanna take over as editor, but I know it's a section I've always wanted to specialise in. Rachel was a great help in making me feel part of the team. if I do end up as her successor I have no idea how good I'll be. but Jin says you gotta try, and others have told me the same thing. I guess the problem lies in me essentially- me and my nervous self.
but hey, gotta suck it up you know? I don't think I'd get a chance like this if I were in a different school. SCI really does offer the best opportunities I've ever come across. and I should start trusting myself abit more. I could be good, you never know.
when Life gives you lemons, you just grab them and run. run like never before.
