parental concerns
my parents are away on a roadtrip with some friends. they left in the morning, after waking me up to force a goodbye from me. a few hours ago I left them a message, clearly aware there wasn't going to be anyone cooking, cleaning and eating in this house over the next few days. sigh. with my brother at a chalet for the World Cup, and my sister forever working at that advertising company, I realise it'll be quite lonely being home alone.
me: mummy daddy hope you're having fun at malaysia. if you wanna call us call our handphones because we're too lazy to answer the one at home. come back soon!
*5 minutes later*
dad: ok don't forget to turn off the heater!
WHO IN THE WORLD WORRIES ABOUT THE HEATER BEING TURNED ON LONGER THAN IT SHOULD!? I mean what happened to the usual 'don't burn the house down', 'don't forget your curfew' and 'don't have any parties while I'm away'??? whyyy oh why can't my parents be normal for once? God they're so lame.
anyway a few days ago before they left I asked Mum when they'll be coming back. mostly so I can gauge what time I should start cleaning the place up before they realised I had a party while they were away, ha ha (kidding). so Mum replies in this sing-song voice 'don't knooww haven't decided yet.' so okay she's tryna be funny, I thought. so I asked which hotel are you staying at?
again she replies in that
extremely cheeky voice 'don't knooww your father wants to book only when we reach the place.'
waaahh they can be so irresponsible sometimes. so I shrieked and said how come like that one! and Mum just giggles and says we should be spontaneous now and then whaattt.
grumbles. that's pretty rich, considering this is the same woman who barred me from flying off to Phuket a few months ago, saying I should plan properly first before going.
