I'll show you how to, in 8 easy steps.
camp's over! I have to type in a report by tonight, which I promise shall be done in no time. I had a great time with my class. I don't know about the other instructors, but I thought the kids have been very fun to work with. oh sure, they're testing your patience and threatening to burst that throbbing vein on your forehead every single minute, but at the end of the day it's the thought that counts.
I know they tried hard. you should see how that tiny Indian boy looked so thrilled when he'd scored a goal at Captain's Ball, and that we were cheering for him (because I made everyone take turns to be the person standing on the chair, you know what I mean right) or how Kenneth the hot boy from the Philippines had that proud look on his face when I gave him the role of getting his friends to listen to me. after everything had ended I was walking around making sure they're still breathing, and then I hear someone call my name and suddenly this girl comes over and hands me a lollipop. she says 'it's from all of us.'
I asked my partner if he'd gotten one, and he sadly said no.
I know I've mentioned this before last year, reminding all my friends that children are a waste of space and time and that I'd never in my life dream of being a teacher or making one myself. but after today that thinking has sort of changed. this could just be a passing remark, maybe the aftermath of spending two days with the best bunch of people has softened me abit and I'm still high from all that, but I really think it's no harm considering teaching as a career. trust me on this you'll never know how something is like until you've experienced it for yourself. look at me! a few days ago I swore to never have anything to do with those little people but now I'm a sucker just like my mother.
